Finnan unsurprisingly confident of Champions League Progression

Steve Finnan has spoken ahead of the game against CSKA Sofia of how things may pan out this evening.
The Irish defender told Liverpoolfc.tv: "I think they proved that they are a good team in the first 15 minutes over in Sofia and they caused us a few problems. Pepe Reina made a big save for us at the end and it was a great save to stop it being 3-2. "If they got an early goal that would give them a boost but we are confident we will reach the group stages. They have got to win 3-0 to go through so we have to approach the game in the right way and with confidence. "We will approach it as though it is 0-0. We will try and put pressure on them from the start and try and get an early goal. "It is a blow for us to be without Steven Gerrard and a massive disappointment but maybe because we are 3-1 up it won't be that bad for us, so hopefully he will be back for the Super Cup on Friday."
Another example above of how the players are now reliant on Gerrard. In my opinion it makes no difference that Gerrard is out tonight because we should be far better than Sofia despite his absence.
