Rafa hoping for improved consistency
Rafa wants us to follow up the win at the weekend with another win in Europe to get a decent run going. He is expecting a difficult game against Anderlecht however he knows a victory should put us through to the knockout stages:
''We have that chance against Anderlecht and will try to do it.''
''Anderlecht are a team with quality players, some of them can really play well and produce good football.
''They have some good players but not the best in Europe. They will try to play their very best at Anfield and it will be very difficult.''
Overall Rafa does feel that progress is being made:
''I think of the same speech that I have said all season,'' said Benitez. ''The team is stronger this year. ''In the Champions League we are playing well, in The Premiership we sometimes play well and sometimes not so well. ''But the team is more consistent than last season. How can you be more consistent? By winning one, two, three games in a row.
''Every team goes against us with a lot of passion but we need to approach each game with more consistency than we did last season,'' he concluded.
I am expecting us to follow up the performance against West Ham with another excellent European display. Hopefully we can convert a higher ratio of chances, run up a nice scoreline and fill the team with more confidence.
Please let me know how you think the game will go.
