Liverpool Player Ratings against Betis
Although it was a 0-0 draw the performance last night was quite impressive below are marks out of ten for the players performances:
Reina 6 Was hardly called upon to make any saves.
Finnan 7 Gave a solid performance allowing Gerrard to attack with freedom.
Sami 8 An excellent defensive display. Seemed to always be in the right place to make key interceptions.
Carra 7 Typical determined display, marshaled the defence well as Betis got caught offside repeatedly.
Riise 7 Only got skinned a couple of times by Joaquin. Linked up well with Zenden.
Zenden 7 Got a few dangerous crosses into the box and helped keep balance of the team.
Didi 7 Helped break up a number of potentially dangerous counter attacks. Hardly gave the ball away.
Momo 7 Had a shaky start but recovered well showing good skills on the ball and didn't allow the Betis players any time in possession.
Gerrard 9 Another superb performance from the captain. A constant attacking threat and was unlucky not to score.
Crouch 9 Did everything but score. Repeatedly got into goalscoring positions and caused panic in the Betis defence.
Nando 7 Showed good skills when holding up the ball but didn't have his shooting boots on.
The subs 6 Both Cisse and Kewell didn't have much time to make an impact.

Were u at the game?? May have looked differently on the telly but.....i do agree with most of it but i do think that you have hyped Gerrard a bit there lad!
He palyed ok but was not a 9! He kept drifting far into the middle and against a much better side we would have got skinned! Nando looks like a class act - hes hould have been allowed to stay on the pitch for the 90!
I think Cisse is gone in Jan....Crouch was unlucky not to score last night - he needs to get a goal quickly as the team (esp Gerrard) pass the ball to him to score when they should have a go themselves!
I think Rafa gives Gerrard license to roam around at times. This allows him to find space in dangerous positions. For example he popped up on the left beat a defender and almost scored at one point. He was very positive whilst on the right taking players on and create lots of chances for others. The chest down to Morientes was superb.
It is worrying that Rafa doesn't fancy cisse as he has a lot to offer.
How can you give Crouch 9? The guy missed loads of clear chances. Isn't a centre forward supposed to score? We only drew and were holding on at the very end. I like Crouch as a person and he's not a bad player, but if he persists in missing loads of chances, then we will not progress when goals are really important. Crouch will never be a prolific scorer he hasn't the instinct.
As some one said, cisse is gone on jan... Gerrard played good but doesn't deserve 9.
I completley disagree wiht Brush... Crouch desered 9 because of his excellence performance. It was unlucky not to score..... We don't care if he scores as much as other center fordowards as long as he plays like he did... He created chances and was the best player on the field...........

I agree Crouch can't go on missing chances but he created a few of his chances for himself with individual skill, he held up the ball and created chances for others and, although he had a lot of attempts, most of them were only half chances. Crouch doesn't need to be a prolific goalscorer as he offers much more.
Crouch unlucky not to score? Which game are you referring to? He was not unlucky he just missed loads chances yet again! Face it, he hasn't got a goal scorer's instinct. It's OK praising the guy for playing well when we do well. But when we need to score and he doesn't, will we all be saying "Unlucky Peter"? Don't think so.
Fair comment! crouch is a good player, but need to score very very soon and then on a regular basis, its no good just setting up chances that ultimately come to nothing once more, he needs to polish off a few as well!
We missed King Luis Garica.

we play as a team we win as a team, dont take it away from betis they were a class outfit, 1 guy said gerrard would have been skinned if we were playing a better side!!!!!!!!!! what!!!!
we created 28 chances against betis it was one if those games, did you forget to mention the clean sheets!! leave crouch alone!!
