Owen deal being worked on
The Liverpool Chief Exec has given the clearest indication yet that we are interested in signing Owen. This is how he replied when quizzed about the Owen situation:
"Wait and see," Parry told Sky Sports News. "Absolutely [it's all I can say].
"There's been far too much speculation on it already.
"Let's just rely on facts and we'll see when we get to that day [next Wednesday's deadline].
"I don't [want to comment on my feelings on bringing him back]. My personal feelings do not have anything to do with it.
"One myth that can be dispelled is there's never been a difference of opinion between Rafa and me. We're just keeping our counsel.
"There's some work to do and it's a few days before the deadline so we'll see."
It appears that a lot of tough negotiating will need to be done to get Real Madrid to sell Owen to us at a decent price as Newcastle have complicated matters with their £ 16 million bid yesterday. Please let me know what you think about the return of Owen and how much we should pay for him.

Must get hold of him before any other club get him.Owen is a wonderful player.Even a small size player like him can tear up any defender with his magic touches and goals.Liverpool please get him.
A very good and tricky striker that can score goals when u are relly in need of.I hope rafa would get his service asap.
I say try to get him for £ 10 million max.
I think Owen should go to Everton.Personally I think hes too good for us and they will finish higher than us agin in the league this year im sure now that they're out of the CL.
£12million would be a fair price even though those t**ts Newcastle bid £18million!
Liverpool have held talks behind the scene with Madrid which
will see Owen arrive at Anfield for 10m that will be 2m upfront
and the rest 4m over the next 4 years which is very good business for us but Madrid know full well that they can get 14m from Newcastle which will be 7m up
front and 7m over 3 years But Owen has said no to a permanent move to Newcastle so Madrid either let him go to Liverpool or risk paying a further 2.5m in wages till Jan The reason the club has denied interest in Owen is so they can
activate the buy back clause in the deal that took him to
Spain if Madrid state that he is for sale then Owen will be Due a large slice of the fee plus a loyalty bonus which will mean Madrid end up with nothing
in the transfer of a world class player is simple so just trust in Rafa.
Of course !!! that answers a lot of questions, I forgotten the buyback clause that was mentioned during the funeral procession of his departure 12 months ago.
After the way Real have messed us around firstly with Morientes, then with the seduction of Owen and only a few weeks ago with the Figo farce, now that we've got them over a barrel, I can't blame the wallet for squeezing them till the middle of next week. It looks like even if the Magpies offered them £80 million for Owen, Real would be bound to offer us first refusal, with any luck at the original sale price, which I understand still hasn't been fully paid.
