Anderlecht boss hoping players give professional performance
The Anderlecht Coach, Frank Vercauteren, insists his side will not give up and provide us with a good test spurred on by the motivation of playing the European Champions.
"I want to be positive, I always am. We have lost all three of our group G matches so far but if you decide to give up only half way through the group stage then you are not professional and not a sportsman," he said.
"It is certainly not in my mind to give up before we even start. We have great respect for
"You can talk about our position in the group and how many matches we have lost already but we do feel there are positives about playing at Anfield. It is an honour to face Europe's best team and to play at this venue.
"These two facts together should be an inspiration for our players and have a good effect on our game.
"Obviously it will be difficult to get a result here but I am sure my players are keen to give a good account of themselves."
Much like ourselves, after the second round in the Champions League last year, Anderlecht will be playing with no pressure or expectation which may galvanise their performance.
Please post your views on the game tonight.
