Garcia expecting Crouch to score soon
Luis Garcia has backed Peter Crouch stating that although he has yet to score any goals for us he is an important part of our team:
"Peter may not be scoring goals but he is a very good player and very important for the team," said Garcia.
"He is always keeping the ball and trying to bring others into play.
"Of course strikers need goals in a big space of time. Sometimes it is no good for the confidence if you are not finding the net.
"But Peter will score very soon. Nobody is worried about him in the dressing room. He is a very good player.
"We have players who are scoring now and he will have his time."
Garcia believes we will be able to put a run together now the team are playing good football and converting more of their chances:
"We have to be more consistent and that is something I am sure we can achieve.
"If we continue to play like we did against Anderlecht we can push up the table in the next few weeks.
"The team played well and we are in a good position in the Champions League.
"We have 10 points now and that is very important. It is very good for our confidence."
Garcia was very pleased with his impressive headed goal and thanked Steve Finnan for the assist:
"Steve Finnan crosses well a lot of times and I tried to arrive before the defender. I was delighted to score."
