Hyypia believes improving Carra can be England's best

Sami knows a thing or two about defending and has bestowed high praise upon his defensive partner predicting that he will soon be the best defender in England:

He told Liverpoolfc.tv: "Jamie has continued to improve a lot this season and he is high on confidence at the moment. He's playing very well and it is a pleasure to partner him in the centre of defence. "Hopefully he'll keep improving because he is a very important member of the team. He's one of the best defenders around and if he keeps improving he can become the best in England. Jamie has a great character. He never gives up and always gives 110 per cent."

There are some superb defenders in England at present. In my opinion John Terry is the current pick of the bunch. Rio Ferdinand used to be regarded as the best but he is struggling at present. I would say Carra is now alongside the likes of Ferdinand, Woodgate, Sol Campbell and Ledley King. However if he continues to improve at the rate he has over the last eighteen months he will soon be up there with Terry.
