Rafa still chasing top quality young talent
Rafa is determined to keep his eye out for more quality youngsters. As part of his scouting system he has sent people to Peru to the World under 17 championships:
"With regards to showcasing possible world-class players of the future this is a very important competition and we will have scouts over there looking out for any promising players that may crop up," says Benitez. "The likes of Sinama and Le Tallec were first spotted in this tournament a few years back. It is vital these days to spot talented players at a young age, get them in and starting working with them as early as possible. "All the best teams in this age group will be there and that means so will the best players. For this reason it is essential that we have representatives over in Peru. "Signing up the best young players is a very competitive market. There is always a lot of scouts at events like this and it will be difficult but we must do our best to try and sign up any players we deem good enough for this football club."
Hopefully we can snap up some more youngsters like Flo and potentially save millions on future transfers.

Thank God! Apparently during the Houllier years, LFC didn't even have a South American scout. Considering 75% of the most naturally talented footballers come from that region, I was stunned to hear it. The World u-17's are a great chance to get some of the best young talent in the world onto our books, so let's hope it's a successful trip...
