Argentine defender may move from Banfield to Anfield

Liverpool are pondering making a move for Argentine Youth International defender Gabriel Paletta. The 19 year old was a key part of the Argentine team who won the World Youth Championships earlier this year. If the Reds are to make a bid the fee would be in the region of £3 million for the youngster who currently plays in Argentina for Banfield.

Paletta may not require a work permit due to the European roots of his ancestors. He would also have the advantage of not being cup-tied for the Champions League.

There is no doubt we will be signing a central defender in the transfer window. The only question is who will it be? A talented youngster would be the most likely option as initially the defender will be providing cover for Sami and Carra.

I am starting to think that we are going to see more players arrive that just the RW and CB Rafa wanted in the summer.

Perhaps it is wishful thinking... although I am not one continually calling for replacement personnel.

It is just that I imagine Rafa wants these two + a couple of others that he would have planned to have brought in at this juncture.

Simao?

Agger?

Paletta?

Vidic?

could Joaquin be coming aswell?

and Kuyt?

...could be interesting
