Carra Hoping to Establish Himself as England Regular
After putting in a solid display against Wales Jamie Carragher is after a repeat performance against Northern Ireland to try and cement a place in the 1st team:
"I'd like to think I have put down a marker for the future," says Carra. "There is a game on Wednesday now and hopefully my performance can get me in the team for that match. "In international football it is difficult to put a marker down because you don't play too many games consecutively, so if I get the chance on Wednesday hopefully it is something I can build upon "The main thing though is that we got the result we needed. Our aim was to win these two games, so we are halfway there to getting the six points."
Unfortunately it's not going to be easy for Carra with both John Terry & Sol Campbell due to return soon.

Forget it Carra.
Your face doesn't fit.
Keep on concentrating on a team where you are respected, not just seen as a 'make-do' while a couple of media-friendly pretty-boys are out with bruised knees.
'Jamie Carragher' just doesnt have the same exotic ring to it as 'Rio Ferdinand' - and it doesnt look as good on the back of those 50 quid replica shirts.
International football is a joke - its aimed at kids and women.
As Carra said when he was the temporary England captain for 10 mins a few years back: 'Its something to tell your mates about in the pub'
Spot on.
