Crouch delighted with move
I'm sure, even six months ago, if you mentioned to Peter Crouch he would be joining Liverpool in the summer, he would have questioned your sanity. Consequently, now the transfer has taken place, he has spoken of his joy:
"Everything about this place is top notch," he says. "The facilities at Anfield and Melwood are excellent and the standard of players I'm training alongside each day is obviously a lot higher. I've enjoyed every minute of it so far and I'm looking forward to returning to action.
"I know I still have a lot to prove but I'm relishing the challenge. It's always been a big ambition of mine to compete at the top level. When you move to a new club it's important to try and make a good impression as early as possible. I was pleased with the start I'd made but it was obviously disappointing and frustrating to get injured when I did."
"A lot has been written about my style of play but that is what Rafael Benitez bought me for and I'm sure I can add more to my game and develop as a player under his managership. It's a lot easier when you have players of the calibre of Xabi Alonso and Steven Gerrard has your supply line," he adds.
"Once I knew Liverpool were interested in me, they were the only club I wanted to join. The transfer did drag on a bit and at times it was frustrating but now I'm here life couldn't be better at the moment. This is a massive club to play for and the move here represents a great challenge for me."
"I'm from West London and I was a QPR fan as a kid," he confirms. "I've read in some reports that I supported Chelsea but I don't know where they got that from!"
Crouch will obviously give us a very alternative option but I think it will be a tall order for him to become a Kop hero.
Please post your views on Crouch.

willing to give him time. everyone seems to be slating him and that could work in our favour if the opposition take him lightly!
He will become the new John Toshack. Just wait and see.
And Djib can be the new Keegan
