Gerrard confident of more European glory

Speaking after the game last night to Sky Sports Gerrard has stated that we should fear no-one. It was fantastic to hear this from Gerrard as last year he claimed we had no chance of winning the competition. He also confirmed that he is still recovering from his calf injury and working his way back to full fitness:
"Last year has given us the belief to go anywhere and know we can get results,"
"We proved that whether we are at home or away, we are difficult to beat."
The England ace added: "After my calf injury I hadn't had much training and I was really tired after the two England games in such a short space of time.
"I think the idea tonight was to use all of the squad."
It's always nice when we put in a great performance without Gerrard. It makes anyone who calls us a one man team look ridiculous.

Please post your comments.

I dont mean to be a downer, after all last nights result was a good one, but can some one please tell me how that wanker Traore gets into our team? He cant even pass the ball 2 yards and his defending is almost schoolboy like.

traore was in the team for his solid defensive skills. We all know he's not the best on the ball but I though overall his performance was decent.

what is this idiot talking about, Traore saved us last night with a tackle that would have surely been a goal. I don't think he is the best player in the world but why don't we trust Rafa? He's the one who sees him in training, he's the one who picked him for the squad who won against Milan in the Champions League Final. I think Liverpool are a much better side than people think. Rafa is a key man in europe and will tactically perform miricales to win games. With Chelsea underneath us in the group table I personlly think this is a phycological advantage that will also work in the premiership. Lets remember that a win over chelsea in a fortnight is quite realistic.

Traore scores an OG last season and since then all you doubters have been on his back. He has come on leaps and bounds over the last couple of seasons and deserves a first team spot. He does look clumsy at times but his passing, tackling, and speed certainly make him more attractive than most left-backs in the premiership. I certainly don't want to see Riise playing at left back too often as he has become quite useful to us playing left midfield. So, please, get off Djimi's back and let the professionals (Rafa! Rafa!) pick the squads, because at the end of the day thats what he is getting paid to do. Nevermind you so-called 'POOL supporters criticising players who done their bit last season to lift us the most coveted trophy in club football.

So go on Traore, keep up the good work.

Spot on Urawally. The same people should also give Crouch a chance.

I agree,Traore is a donkey. Every time he has the ball I panic. He is not up to standard. You always feel he's going to let you down at some point in a game.

There's always some smart arse who talks crap about footie.. I bet they couldn't pass wind let alone a ball. Traore is still maturing, leave him alone ! Liverpool fan

Traore is a gimp, and as for my "footie" knowledge and know how, I know how to "pass" on a bad player. Mark my words, we're going to pay for him at some stage this season and when we do you can think of me. Knowledgeable fan!

I've got to admit he's piss poor.

Listen to all you Douchebag Doubters.

Think you know better than Rafa ?!?!

Wise up to yourselves and try to ENJOY supporting your team for a change.

I don't understand why you don't see that Rafa is going to win us trophies! So please stop moaning. Try and respect his decisions. He obviously knows a lot more than you ill educated twats who actually think YOU know better.

And Crouch! Played a blinder for our second goal against Betis and I'll bet he'll help supply quite a few more.

Who the fuck needs Michael Owen by the way! Not good enough for Real. Not good enough for us!! And I'm sure it's the same Douchebags who wanted him back thats repeatedly criticising the squad.

To be honest I'm sick of hearing your shit! And I hope that AGAIN Rafa will prove you wrong!

Long live the RAFALOUTION!

I must say I agree with Urawally!

Owen was a great player and a great goalscorer but he was detremental to the team as a whole towards the end.

It is not Rafa's way to have superstars in his team, hence why Gerrard will not play every game this season. It is a team game, lest we forget, and if Traore and Crouch in the side make the team play better than Owen and Riise did then thats fine.

Rafa will always do what is best for the team, like resting gerrard, not paying over th odds for Owen or promising him an automatic place in the team if he did sign and not signing sub par players just to fill the gaps.

We will find a Centre back and a Right winger but opnly if they are good enough to play for the European Champions week in week out. Solano and Stellios were no better than the options we have at present.

Right thats enough...I'm getting off my soapbox to enjoy the unbetaen start to the season and two fantastic goals to put us top of the group in Europe.

Here! Here!

Thanks very much Jimmy!

Unbeaten! And only conceded 1 goal (In Europe) but we can be more than happy with the two we got against them.

Bring on the SCUM (Anagram for Man Utd Supporters Club BTW!) this Sunday and Chelski in a couple of weeks. We'll show our true pedigree over the coming weeks and as all you SO-CALLED supporters should know; By fuck did we give Chelski a hard time last season. Robbed of the Mickey Mouse cup over a Stevie (O)G, thank you!, keeping it close over both legs in both the Champs and the Prem and Maureen's bitterness over our Captain AGAIN snubbing them. We've got nothing to worry about. Whatever we don't win this season we'll more than make up for it next season when Rafa finally puts together the final pieces of his Jigsaw.

Thats it from me. Good Luck everybodypeeps, even you doubters, and please, please, please, if you wanna gripe about your Football team then fuck off and support United or Arsenal. They've got a lot more problems than we do!

Laterz!
