Rafa expecting goals soon

Rafa is convinced our goalscoring problems will be behind us soon. Fortunately this has not been too costly as our defence has been superb. Rafa had this to say to Liverpoolfc.tv about the situation:

"We are analysing the games to see why we aren't scoring goals. We scored 25 times in pre-season and so that's why I'm confident it's only a matter of time before we start scoring in the league. "We are working hard with the midfielders and the strikers trying to improve our goalscoring. We played good football and scored lots of goals in the friendly matches before the season started and so there's no reason why we shouldn't be able to do it in the Premiership as well. "I am happy with the situation as far as the defence is concerned - but I'd be much happier if we scored goals at the other end as well. It's something we are working on." Rafa knows that we will need to improve on our performances against teams like Birmingham if we have title aspirations. "We have bad memories from games with Birmingham last season," he added. "They won both games against us and showed they are a good side. "We know it will be a physical game and the players will be ready for it. I am sure we'll be much better than we were in this game last year. "Our squad is stronger and we're more difficult to beat. If we keep concentrating as well as we have been then teams will find it very hard to score against us. We just need to find a way of scoring goals at the other end."

I think the lack of goals has partly been caused by our new striking options adapting to our teams style of play and vice versa. I also think that Rafa squad rotation system and lack of continuity in his selections do not help matter.

Please let me know what you think.

Maybe because our strikers have not been on the field long enough .... some strikers need to be on the field more often...
