Mixed fortunes for Reds on International Duty

A number of Liverpool players have been representing their countries this weekend. Anthony Le Tallec had the best weekend helping himself to a hattrick against Switzerland Under 21's for France. He was denied a fourth by the woodwork. Another youngster Besian Idrizaj played against club colleague Scott Carson as Austria's Under 21's played England under 21's.

Carra, Stevie G and Peter Crouch played for England as they struggled to a 1-0 victory against Austria and qualified for the World Cup. Djib made a goalscoring substitute appearance for France in their 1-1 draw with Switzerland. Steve Finnan played the 1st half in Ireland's away win over Cyprus. John Arne Riise was also on the winning side for Norway against Moldova. In Africa Djimi played the full 90 minutes as Mali lost 3-0 to Senegal.
