Marseille coach expresses interest in Djib

Marseille look set to make an effort to sign Cisse in the transfer window as their coach, Jean Fernandez, declared his interest in the pacy Frenchman:

"I am not in the managers' confidence but I know that we really need a striker and I would be very, very happy to have Cisse, who is a great player with fantastic potential," Fernandez told Canal Plus on Saturday evening."It would be an honour to have him with us."

This comes after the Marseille president, Pape Diouf, has repeatedly claimed that a loan move could be agreed for Djib in January.

Djib had stated earlier this season that unless he was playing regular first team football by January he would look for a move to ensure his hopes of being in the French World Cup squad aren't dashed. Cisse also is clearly not one of Rafa's favourites. Rafa has stated that he prefers team players and Cisse doesn't appear to fit in that category.
