Possible opponents for Champions League last 16

Apart from Man U the majority of the biggest clubs in Europe have made it through to the Champions League Knockout stage. The draw for the last 16 is scheduled to take place next Friday. A group winner cannot be drawn against another group winner and teams will not be drawn against one from the same country until the quarter finals. Consequently we will could face any of the second placed teams other than Chelsea. These teams could be:

Bayern Munich
Ajax
Werder Bremen
Benfica
PSV Eindhoven
Real Madrid
Rangers

Topping the group has certainly given us an advantage otherwise we could have faced:

Inter, Lyon, Milan, Villarreal, Barcelona or Juventus.

Hopefully we will avoid meeting Bayern or Madrid. Ultimately though it doesn't make too much difference because we will need to beat the best at some stage if we want to win the tournament again. Although it's nice to save the best till last.

I am confident we can take anyone except AC Milan and Barca (and maybe Chavski - it's just completely a stalemate for both teams there).

AC Milan have an axe to grind. I fear them the most.

I thought that we did not have country protection and could be drawn against anybody?

We had no country protection for the group stage draw but its irrelevant now anyway as Chelsea were in our group and there are no other 2nd placed English teams.

we can play any team and beat them that is how confident we are now. not conceding a goal in 8 games shows this and we are scoring goals aswell home and away.
