Chelsea set to outbid everyone for teen star

Yet again it looks like Chelsea are going to use their Russian riches to beat their rivals to a signing of a player.
Theo Walcott is the widely regarded as a potential world class talent and has been watched by Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal.
Chelsea are set to bid a staggering £ 8 million for Walcott who has only made 4 senior starts for his club Southampton. Mind you he has already scored three goals despite only being a 16 year old.
Walcott has also made his mark at International level scoring 5 goals in 9 appearances for England Under-17's.
Chelsea have a huge financial advantage that is threatening to damage the game in this country, particularly if they start paying outrageous fees for young talents.

This transfer imbalance will certainly tarnish the devalue the football sport which could be very detrimental in the long run. If Chelsea thinks that they will get away with it then they are wrong.

Who would want to see EPL when Chelsea are buying all the best players and even the young players at ridiculous prices just to thwart every single teams from getting their fair share towards competing for good players.

There must be a regulation set to cap the spendings on players transfer to curb any monopolistic team like Chelsea to "buy" success without even earning them.

Of course everybody who's on the other side would agree with the article.

One would be very naive to believe that a Liverpool fan would stand up against a similar phenomenon if Rafa was the one who had an unlimited transfer budget.

What we must question is, if this is that wrong, how come nobody thought of it before, e.g. during the Man Utd era and impose some sort of FA rules on this.

It can also be done now, but it would be very hard and almost impossible to get all the teams to agree.

Cheers,

Keka

I think every other team in the world should take advantage when Chelsea come calling to buy a player and inflate the costs 10 fold just because it's chelsea.

at least other clubs are getting much more money for their players than they would otherwise

But I would welcome this young talent in a Liverpool shirt

I think the Chelski situation is heading for an inevitable watershed.
Unless they use their wealth to bribe FIFA, they are still only able to field 11 players at any given time and this could prove a problem when convincing young talents to join.
It seems to me that the main concern is not how much Chelsea are prepared to spend, but how may young players are likely to ruin their careers playing (or should I say not playing) for the machine that is Chelski?
