West Brom want Kirkland for good

Albion boss, Brian Robson, has stated that he wants to make Chris Kirkland's deal permanent. Kirkland has already produced some superb performances this season but again he has been troubled with injuries:

"Obviously we'll have to see how things stand at the end of the season, but we'd certainly like to keep him.
"I don't see it as a problem for a goalkeeper to be with a club that's not playing in the Champions League. I think outfield players who want to play international football probably do want to be at that level, but for goalkeepers it's different.
"Chris has been very committed to the club since he came here - he's even bought a house in the area and moved his family down which is a terrific sign."

It's a shame that Kirkland was not able to establish himself at Anfield. However because he is very prone to injury I think it would be a good idea to sell him if we can get a reasonable price.

It would be a shame if he left for good because i thought he would be both Englands and Liverpools Number 1 for many years. If he leaves we will all wish him luck.

Liverpool are lucky to have many good goalies. I guess Rafa and the rest of the coaching staff is monitoring Kirklands progress closely, but I doubt that Rafa bought Reina and Carson if he had plans for Kirkland.

It seems that Rafa prefer a more offensive keeper that can operate behind the back line as a sweeper, allowing the defence to stand higher up on the field. I also think that Rafa wanted a keeper that talk more to the defenders than Dudek and Kirkland did so Reina was the obvious choise. With a goalie that is able to command the back four Rafa is less dependant on Carras abilities to police the defence as well, allowing Rafa to rest Carra more often.

I doubt that Robson will be the only one that want Kirkland when/if Liverpool deside to sell him. Rumours go that both Wenger and Fergie are looking for a new goalie as well...
