Bonera & Solano linked
According to the Italian media we have made a bid of £ 4 million for Parma's Italian International Defender Daniel Bonera. If these reports are true the move looks likely to be doomed as Parma no longer need to sell as their financial problems have eased.
We are still being linked with a move for Nobby Solano. The Mirror thinks he could sign before the deadline for around £ 1.5 million.
We are crying out for a right sided midfield man and Solano would fit the bill nicely.

I find it quite shocking to hear that a club as big as Liverpool would be desperate enough to spend money on a Premiership cast-off. The club currently has better options for the right wing already at the club. Instead of Solano, bring in someone with a glorious future - not a decent past.

You guys are not looking at the big picture. Yes he is a little old. But can he still do the job? He does it for Villa week in and week out.
Not only that, he is a deadball specialist. We have missed one since we let Danny Mrphy go.
Solano would be a useful squad addition it is just bad timing that it falls after the owen news if we'd signed Michael everyone would say great we've got Solano as well , as we haven't everyone will say what are we doing.
I can see Solano playing hanging balls into the box for Crouch to head in or knock down for Cisse.
Solano wouldn't just be good, he would be ideal. Garcia and Cisse are not wingers and are often asked to fill this position. Morientes, Cisse and Crouch would all benefit from a player with vast premiership experience and proven pedigree. See it as a 'Mcallister'signing!
lets just hope he has more of an impact than zenden has had so far. we are a big club and we shouldn't be targeting cast off's from smaller clubs.
Why should be chasing 30 year old players for 1.5m? We won the Champions League and are one of the biggest clubs in the world but we have only spent around £7m this summer. If we are to believe that our chairman was going to pay for Owen out of his own pocket, why won't he give the money for other players as we won't be getting Owen any more. We should be after young, bright players.
Many of u don't see the picture. Solano is a good for a season or two . Cus the winger RB wants is not available now either cuptied or whatever reason...So with Solano's experience in english league he would make a fantastic Temp in that position!! Just wait and see, u never know who will be available next season: Joaquin , Duff, robben or Schweinsteiger we'll never know.
Well said man above, solano is a good stop gap untill one of the players rafa really wants is free (probably some spanish wonderkid). so lets all just calm down and give nobby a chance eh?
I totally agree with you...give the manager a break ...he is trying to build a team not individuals...he knows what he is doing...I know a lot of people would want owen but we are not chelski who can go and buy somebody.for #$@$@ millions of pound. Its better to concentrate and instill the team with a winning mentality...which Rafa is doing right now..I feel sorry for owen if do not signed him...but we should not be to dependant on one person..we should support the team and the manager..and lastly have faith...
Look.....as far im concerned being linked with Bonera is fantastic and hopefully we will capture him.Solano on the other hand is a good buy and good enough for the next 2 years.If we dont sign him,tough luck.....Rafa will surely find a way of playing.....Remember we signed the Austrian.....Maybe Rafa knows something we don't.In the meantime.....PRAY FOR BONERA.....The boy is class!!!!!
