Joaquin bid possible in January

Reports this morning have stated that Rafa is planning a £12 million swoop for Joaquin in the January transfer window. Joaquin has a buy out clause of £40 million but Betis may well sell for around £16 million.
Paco Herrera invited the player's agent Gonzalo Arguiano to Anfield for Wednesday night's Champions League clash with Chelsea.
We are still crying out for some top quality on the right and Joaquin would fit the bill nicely.
He would be cup tied for Europe this season having played for Betis in the Champions League.
Our other option is Simao after Rick Parry hinted we are still tracking him, "He is a great player and we need more like him," Parry told O Jogo.
"I did not see the Manchester United - Benfica game, but I heard about his great goal and excellent performance.
"Simao is confirming that he is a great player."
"We have still not definitively decided, but it is an interesting option for us.
"We need a player with his characteristics.
"I don't know if Benfica are willing to let him go, but we can talk."
Ideally every effort will be made in January to capture Joaquin and if we can't get him then move for Simao.
