King Likely to be Fit to Face Reds

Ledley King is back in light training and is expected to be fit for Saturday's clash at White Hart Lane. Hopefully he will have his work cut out on Saturday to contain Cisse and the marauding Gerrard.
I have noticed that prior to the big games we play our key players get injured and the opposition's key players always seem to recover in time to return against us.
Despite this I think we have what it takes to be victorious on Saturday especially with Cisse banging the goals in for fun at present.

I don't think that its King and Dawson you need to worry about but the other end of the field with Defoe banging in the goals and having something to prove after the England debarcle at the weekend

I think it will be hard for Ledley to be fully fit by the weekend after only starting light training during the weekend, but I think we have plenty at home to deal with Liverpool. Cisse scoring or lanky ex spur crouch still wont stop the mighty spurs marching on.

Crouch is likely to feature.

Seriously though, Liverpool Tottenham games have always been blinders and for the last 20yrs or so have been on the whole pretty unpredictable - but none the least great to watch...............and may the best team win.
PS Can't recall the 'dodgy ref' having an influence

Do we think that Jol will rest some more of the first team players as we aren't playing anyone of any note, or will he go all out for humiliating the reds and showing up there frailtys in middfield, and will the big Pole get his first OUTING(Not a reference to you Blog Head).

We would love to have seen Owen return but not at twice the price we sold him for the previous year. Rafa is not too concerned and it's his opinion that counts. It is also questionable whether Rafa saw Owen fitting into our playing style.

At 6/9/05 12:11 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Sounds good but wouldn't put it past Jol to try Keano and Defoe together again just to keep Benitez thinking

Buying back sounds expensive at double the price but surely you pay market value for the a player that would better your squad.
Take that back.... If Rafa has a plying style in mind and Owen doesn't suit it then I agree.

Wolves where do you reckon Liverpool will end up in the league this season and do you reckon we'll be up there too?

At 6/9/05 12:48 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Seriously Wolves u think that u should be able to beat Spurs at WHL on Sat?

I see Spurs as on a par with Liverpool. Neither of us is near the big 3, and i reckon we're better than the rest i.e. Everton, Newcastle, Boro, Villa etc.

If u took Gerrard out of your team it would look SHIT. It seriously would. The following is a totally honest list of our players combined, starting with the best 1st.

1. Gerrard - Liverpool
2. Defoe - Spurs
3. Robinson - Spurs
4. King - Spurs
5. Davids - Spurs
6. Carragher - Liverpool
7. Carrick - Spurs
8. Alonso - Liverpool
9. Jenas - Spurs
10. Keane - Spurs
11. Hyppia - Liverpool
12. Dawson - Spurs
etc

are u kidding, there'r 8 "English" square legs in the team, playing rugby are we?

At 6/9/05 1:05 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I take it you Scouse fans aren't that confident? Seems to be all Spurs here.

At 6/9/05 1:08 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

ITS NOTHING TO DO WITH CONFIDENCE PAL.

Imagine how long it would take to save up enough giro money to buy a computer.
Thats why theres no liverpool fans on here.
Wolves where did you blag yours from?

I think we will establish ourselves as 4th this season bridging the gap between the top three. We strengthened in the summer but not as much as I would have liked.
Tottenham have improved their squad and 1st team considerably. I think they will certainly finish 5th and could even challenge for the 4th position with us. I can't see Everton repeating last season's showing or Newcastle making up the ground.

BTW if anyone keeps making comments that are not constructive they are likely to be removed.

It's just a matter of time when the Liverpool team will start gelling together. Sissoko & Gerrard in the midfield will run riot !

Spurs have always been full of eastern promise, put falls short of the mark ! 3-1 Liverpool win : )

Liverpool fan: I managed to save the pickpocketed wallets I've built up over the years & got myself a p.c. :)
We're too strong for Spurs even with Defoe , Davids being on top form at the moment. Carra & co will have you in their pockets !

You spurs fan's have gone quiet !
:(

At 6/9/05 3:20 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Lets face it Liverpool are poor. They were lucky to win the Champions league last year (but well done) they have not added any significant signings and will not finish in the top 4 again. Im not saying spurs will finish higher but we will win on Saturday for sure. COME ON YOU SPURS
