Rafa sees Man U game as a 6 pointer

Rafa has spoken of his intention of closing the large points gap from last season. He says the best way to do this is by winning the big games against other title challengers:
"If we win, it will be fantastic for everyone,"
"We know how difficult it is but if we do our best and win, when the time comes for us to face Arsenal and Chelsea, who can say how close we will be? They know it's always going to be difficult for them when they come to Anfield.
"When you beat the big teams, nothing seems impossible for the rest of the season.
"When people talk about the gap of 19 points to United or 37 points to Chelsea, there is an immediate way to cut this.
"You can reduce the gap by six points in just one game. If we win, it's three points more to us compared to last year and three less for them. That gap can be reduced.
"If we had won against United home and away last season, for example, you're taking about a difference of 12 points, six for us, six less for them,
"That's why it's so important when two big clubs face each other and why there is always a rivalry. We know we are competing with each other for trophies."
We also need to make sure we win the games both home and away against the weaker teams in the league as this was also a major concern last season.

It's true. Liverpool can close the gap closer this year. We lost alot of points away from home to lowly sides. This year, we cant repeat it and try winning them. And if we can get points from big games, it will be even closer. Who knows what will happen at the end?

With Heinze, Neville and Keane out I think we have a real chance to get three points. United and Arsenal have to be our targets this year. Chelski seem to be on top form, while the gunners are stuttering and united havent had th best of starts.

We have nearly a full squad t our disposal,of the players that couls conceivably start I think only kewell is out?. Heinze is top class and Flo will be able to give O'Shea the run around in his absence...

The midfield battle is easily ours for the taking Fletcher, scholes & Smith vs Sissoko, Alonso and Gerrard? No contest!

I think it will be a question of taking our chances. However Man u have a couple of players who can produce moments of magic to turn a game. Rooney and Ronaldo.
