Rafa unperturbed by points difference

Rafa doesn't care about the points gap so far this season. As usual he is only concerned about the next game:
"I don't think about gaps, I just want to win the next game. If that is possible then we will move closer.
"But if you start thinking about gaps in September, it is wrong. There are a lot of points to play for and we do not need to think about Chelsea or other teams, only how to improve ourselves in each game."
"I have a lot of confidence this season in the team. Last season we had a very bad time, we finished fifth and we were three points behind Everton.
"But if you compare the games we have played this season with the same matches last season, we have taken more points from games against Manchester United, Birmingham and Middlesbrough.
"That gives us confidence that we are improving. If we keep going along these lines, improving on like for like games, then we will finish fourth and qualify for the Champions League. That is an improvement."
He added: "I am not bothered about people saying we are better in Europe than the Premiership. They talked of us not scoring in the league and when we do and also concede goals like at Birmingham last week, they talk of the errors. But I know we have improved."
Rafa is learning everyday about how the Premiership works. It's only a matter of time until our performances in the league match our European exploits.
