Delighted Warnock recalled by England

Following an injury to Ashley Cole left Sven short of left backs, Steve Warnock has been added to the England Squad. Warnock has a reasonable chance of playing as the only other left footed left back option is Kieran Richardson. Sven could also opt to play Carra at left back although he is more likely to play on the right of defence as the regular England right back is injured. Warnock had this to say to Liverpoolfc.tv regarding his second call up:
"It was a bit of a surprise for me," said Warnock. "I was supposed to be training at Melwood yesterday afternoon. When I got there, the boss came up to me and started asking me how I was and whether I was fit. Then he asked if he could have a quiet word with me. I was worried I'd done something wrong and I was in trouble. "Then he told me I'd been called up by the national team so I was absolutely delighted. "I knew Ledley King and Sol Campbell were coming back into the equation, so I wasn't really expecting to be in the squad this time. It wasn't a big surprise to me when my name wasn't in it, so to be called up now is great for me. I joined up with the squad last night and now I'm looking forward to training with everyone again. "I doubt I'll be put straight into the side. I'm not expecting that to happen. There are a lot of experienced players and I'm sure the manager will be looking at someone like Carra before me for the game on Saturday. "It's a big game so I'm not joining the squad expecting to start. I'm just looking forward to the experience again."
