Josemi: "Premiership is stronger than La Liga"

Having played in both the English & Spanish top leagues Josemi has no doubts which one is the hardest to succeed in:

"The Premiership is stronger than Spain. Back in Spain you have Real Madrid, Barcelona and maybe two other teams capable of winning La Liga. Here you have many strong teams and the competition is tougher."

He has also spoken about the season ahead and his determination to prove that he can make it here:

"I am very happy at Liverpool. I have been here one year now and I hope to show my best form this season and not get any more injuries. I want to show the supporters that the manager was right to sign me for Liverpool. "The Premiership is a very difficult league and it took me a while to adapt to the pace and the physical side of the game. I had two injuries which didn't help me and kept me out for a long time but the manager has shown faith in me and I will be a lot better this season. The fans will see the best of Josemi this season. "I will play anywhere for the manager and for the team. I don't mind playing at right back or centre half. I love tackling and I really like playing at centre half, this is where I'm strongest. "We will have a lot of games this season with the Premiership, Champions League, FA Cup and Carling Cup so we need to have a big squad and competition for places." "The Premiership is stronger than Spain," insists Josemi. "Back in Spain you have Real Madrid, Barcelona and maybe two other teams capable of winning La Liga. Here you have many strong teams and the competition is tougher."

"A lot of people spoke about me returning to Spain in the summer, but for me that was never an intention," he adds. "I wanted to remain here and show I could be an important player for Liverpool."

Personally I think the English league is the most exciting in Europe but the Spanish is technically the best. Please post your comments on this subject and whether you think Josemi has what is takes to become a favourite at Anfield.
