Rafa calls for an end to away day troubles
Rafa has hinted that we may play a more attacking style on our travels this season. This could well mean that Cisse will partner Peter Crouch up front tomorrow.
"We may not have got Michael Owen, but for this game we have Cisse, Crouch and Sinama-Pongolle. That is enough for the moment.
"What we will be doing this season is playing a different way away from home than last season. We are trying to improve and we certainly have a better squad than last season. We have confidence.
"It is very important we improve our away form, which is why we have bought Peter Crouch. We want to change the idea of how we play in away matches. We must win more away."
Because our away form was so poor last season it is highly unlikely that it will not improve.
Please comment on what you think Rafa should do to make the team perform better away from home.

Shoot the opposition would be an idea!!!
We need to play a higher tempo game away this season, and be more direct. Far too often last season we played the game in our own half and tried to hit teams on the break. Fine if it works, but hopless when we go one or two goals down. We then end up chasing the game. Rafa, send them out to take teams on! Tell our full backs that the wide man is not there to provide them with cover. They need to get forward much more. One goal should be the catalyst for two or three.
I agree Brush. We should have the confidence now to attack from the first whistle using superfast tempo employed at home against Juve last season. Ideally we can get a couple of goals and then Xabi can slow the game down for us. One of the main problems last season was our inability to get the 2nd goal. We can't slow the game down until we get the second goal and it's impossible to play 90 minutes at such a high tempo.
the tempo against juve can last no more than 30m as shown in second half at istanbul. I opted rafa to play possesing football, blend with long ball up for Cisse & sudden change of tempo.
I think that with the signings we made and the boost in confidence that we gained from winning the champions league, we will be able to dictate the tempo of these games a lot more.
Flying out from the offset probably isnt the best policy, probably omething we could employ at home though. Sissoko could be crucial to upsetting the home team's tempo. If he can cut out their attacks effectively and distribute to Alonso and Gerrard, we have enough willing runners in Cisse and Riise/Zenden to give anyone problems.
