Carra backing for Djib

Jamie Carragher has revealed his belief that Djibril Cisse will be a striking success at Anfield:

"Djibril has already shown everyone his attitude is going to be spot on," said Carragher. "He came on against CSKA Moscow and won us the Super Cup virtually single-handedly. "He's also gone away with France and scored a couple of goals. With all the speculation going on at the time, he could have gone the other way. He didn't and that shows everyone how determined he is. "Djib's response has been great and I'm sure he's going to be desperate to score goals this season and show everyone he's a top player. "I was reading in the club programme before the CSKA Sofia game how if Djib had scored, he'd have equalled Steven Gerrard's European record. Until that point he'd scored in our last four European matches. "When you think he got another two in Monaco, that's six in six European games. That's a record any striker would be proud of. "He also knows he's got the fans behind him, and when you've got that it gives you the confidence to play even better. "They know how hard he worked to get back from the broken leg. When he told us last year he'd be back for the Champions League final, we all laughed. The fact he did it underlined the mental strength he's got. "I'm sure he feels he's still not had the chance to show everyone what he can do because of that injury and in some way he's still getting used to the Premiership. "Now he's got the opportunity to do so and I think he's got the ability to score a lot of goals."

I think Cisse has fully recovered and now has all of his pace back. There is no doubt that defences accross England & Europe will not relish the prospect of facing him.
